Description of Teachers' Questionnaire



Teachers’ questionnaire consists of (09) questions. It includes both closed questions and open-ended questions where the teachers have to choose the appropriate choice and asked to clarify their answers. This questionnaire is divided into two parts; the first part involves five questions about teachers’ viewpoints about exam phobia. The second part involves four questions about the causes of examination phobia.

Administration of the Teachers' Questionnaire

The questionnaire was distributed hand to hand to six (06) teachers at Mohammed Kheider University of Biskra, but only four (04) teachers answered us.

Discussion and Analysis of Teachers’ Questionnaire

Teachers provide the researcher with useful answers that are analyzed as follows:

Part One: Teachers’ View Points about Exam Phobia

Item 01:Does phobia really exist among learners?

This item was intended to know if Phobia really exists among learners according to teachers. The answers are illustrated in the coming table:

We asked teachers whether phobia exists among EFL learners or not. The whole participants who making up 100% agree that learners have phobia; this may be due to some psychological factors, to their previous negative experiences or to some other external factors such as family pressure which may affect students’ studies and final outcomes.

Item 02: Have you ever witnessed some examphobic learners?

Through this item, we want to seek information if teachers have ever witnessed some examphobic learners. The results are represented in the following table:

As shown in the table above the majority of participants, who making up 75%, opted the third option which is “Sometimes” have witnesses some examphobic learners. Whereas, only one participant who make up 25% see that “Always” witnessed. For the second and the last options is neglected.

Item 03: Does phobia have any relation to the person’s age or gender?

This item aims to identify if exam phobia has any relation with the person’s age or gender according to teachers. The findings are summarized in the table below:
