Family is an integral part of every person’s life. It is the most important social unit. A sense of stability and tradition, that family provides, can’t be replaced by anything or anyone. Perhaps, every family follows some special traditions that have been passed to them by former generations. My family is not an exception. For example, in my family it is habitual to dine together. Every evening, when my parents come home from work, we have a nourishing family dinner. Russian cuisine is famous for its first courses – different soups. It turns out that cabbage soup is Russian national soup. The soups are served with baked goods – rasstegais. Russian cuisine is also famous for pancakes, rolls and patties with different fillings. Secondly mushroom dishes have a special place in Russian cuisine. There is a tradition to boil, dry, pickle and even marinate the mushrooms. Since long ago there is a tradition to boil the kvass and now it’s considered a national beverage of Russian cuisine.

Our life would be boring without computers. It’s hard to believe that one device can provide people with entertainment, news, education, music. With the appearance of computer many things have lost their importance. People don’t watch TV anymore, don’t go to the cinema very often. They don’t listen to the radio, CD- or MP3-player. They’ve stopped buying newspapers and magazines. Many have taken online classes. Thus, computers and Internet have become an integral part of every family. Computer is a powerful tool. It helps to create colourful presentations, to calculate large numbers, to write articles, to save and edit photos, to keep documentation and, of course, to surf the web. Internet is the main stream of information nowadays. It informs us, entertains and educates. We find everyday news online, educational resources, films, music, games. Everyone can find something to his or her own taste there. However, computers have certain disadvantages. First of all, there is too much violence online, as well as aggressive pictures and irrelevant information. All this can lead to different problems. Secondly, Internet is a free space, where personal information can easily be stolen. So, people should be aware of what they are posting or downloading. Thirdly, computers have turned people into passive creatures. They can spend hours in front of the monitors, which results into poor eyesight and other health issues. In conclusion, I’d like to add that computers are good at certain extent. If they are being used wisely and moderately, then they can make our life better.

Lots of people in the world are fond of sports and games. Some like keeping fit and healthy, some like doing sport to become more organized and disciplined, and some like sport because it’s a competitive activity. I’d like to tell you about such kinds ofsport as wrestling, fencing and football. Fencing - amazing, beautiful, elegant and romantic type of sport. On the other side, fencing - is an ancient martial art, a beautiful and deadly. Fencing has a thousand-year history, but the relevance in our days.Wrestling is another dangerous sport that involves grappling techniques. The contestants need to be strong, fit and cunning to win in such grapple. Football is considered to be the most popular sport games in the world. It is my favourite game as well.Lots of people in the world are fond of sports and games. Some like keeping fit and healthy, some like doing sport to become more organized and disciplined, and some like sport because it’s a competitive activity. Russian people are no exception. They also like different types of sport both doing them and watching. Moreover, sport has always been very popular in our country. Millions of people watch figure skating competitions, hockey and football matches, car races, tennis tournaments and other sports events. Certainly watching sports events and going in for sports are two different things. Sport takes an important place in my life.Sport gives me health, strength and self-reliance. I don’t get sick. Now I have sport figure. I consider that sport is my reliable helper.
