| Fahrenheit is the temperature scale proposed in 1724 by the German physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit. For a long time Fahrenheit scale was the main in the English-speaking countries. But during the mid to late 20th century the Fahrenheit scale was replaced by the Celsius scale in most countries. Though Fahrenheit scale is still widely used in the USA, Cayman Islands and Belize. |
| Fahrenheit scale is also widely known due to the novel by the American writer Ray Bradbury “Fahrenheit 451” published in 1953. The novel presents a future American society where books are outlawed. The epigraph of the novel says that 451°F is the burning point of paper. If you want to know how much it is in Celsius degrees, you can use the scheme below. |
| To convert Fahrenheit to Celsius subtract 32, multiply by 5 and divide by 9. | |||
