Part 1: Monological form of communication.

Speak on one of the given situations.

    Candidate A:

One of the major problems facing the world today is the growing number of refugees. Developed nations of the world should tackle this problem by taking more refugees. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Use your own ideas and knowledge to support your stance.

    Candidate B:

“Every human being has some basic rights and freedom. These rights include our right to live, right to health, the right to education, freedom of speech and thought and equal rights”. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the quotation?

Part 2: Dialogical form of communication.

Talk to your partner and express your opinion on the following topic.

Problem: Global Education

    Candidate A:

There are eight overlapping concepts that are at the heart of global learning: global citizenship, interdependence, social justice, conflict resolution, diversity, values and perceptions, human rights, sustainable development. How could educators bring these out in the curriculum?

    Candidate B:

Discuss the importance of developing learners’ global competence and present your programme on global learning to implement.

Use the language of the unit in your discussion (vocabulary and grammar).

Read the following task.

Some people say that globalization brings more benefits for the educational systems of the countries. Others, however, believe that the impact а globalization on education is challenging and leads to transformation of the system. · To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? · Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. 2 Write your essay in at least 250 words. Use the language of the unit in your essay (vocabulary and grammar).

1 Using the ‘Self-assessment Grid’, reflect on the information you acquired while working at the Unit 2, competences you developed.

2 Collect the best papers (mind-maps, etc.) created by you in your ‘Portfolio File 2’.
