The word aviation/ˌeɪvɪˈeɪʃən/ was coined by French writer, aviation pioneer and former naval officer Guillaume Joseph Gabriel de La Landelle (1812-1886) in 1863 "Aviation ou Navigation aérienne.", from the verb avier(synonymous flying), itself derived from the Latin word avis(“bird”) and the suffix -ation. Aviation is the practical aspect or art of aeronautics, being the design, development, production, operation and use of aircraft, especially heavier than air aircraft. Aviation is the science that makes airplanes and other vehicles that fly through the air. Aviation deals with travel by air, specifically in a plane. The aviation industry is the business sector dedicated to manufacturing and operating all types of aircraft.

THE WRIGHT BROTHERS
The Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, were two American brothers, inventors, and aviation pioneers ,who are generally credited with inventing, building, and flying the world's first successful airplane. They made the first controlled, sustained flight of a powered, heavier-than-air aircraft on December 17, 1903, four miles south of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. This date can rightly be considered the date of birth of aviation
