If an able seaman is second in command of the damage control party he must get ready the portable firefighting appliances.
II. IN CASE OF FIRE THE SAILORS MUST:

2) call up the bridge and inform the officer of the watch;
3) close the watertight doors, fire doors;
4) evacuate people if necessary;
5) bring the fire-crowbar, the fire-axe, sand and hoses to the seat of the fire;

7) put out the fire with an extinguisher.
A sailor may also act as a messenger.
III. IN CASE OF FLOODING THE SAILORS MUST:
I) bring the collision mat and the sheets and make fast the collision mat;
2) stand by the control lanyard;
3) bring and make fast the hogging line;
4) stand by the winch;
5) if necessary stop the hole with a cement box and sand, and liquid glass from the inner (внутренней) side.
IV. AT THE "MAN OVERBOARD" ALARM THE SAILOR MUST:

Tomorrow our ship will arrive at the port of Liverpool. At the pilot boarding place the ship will reduce her speed. We shall rig a pilot ladder on the port side (starboard side). A pilot boat will come alongside our ship.
A pilot will board the ship to take her to a berth. The master will order two tugs for mooring: one on the bow and one on the stern.
The tugs will come to the ship. The sailors will pass the tug ropes from the ship to the tugs. The tugs will tow the ship to her berth. We shall moor portside (starboard side). I think we shall send ashore the following lines: first a headline, a forward spring, then an aft spring and an aft breast line.
After mooring the health, customs and immigration officers will come on board to clear the ship in.
The ship will stay in the port for 3 days. In 3 days she will leave for London.
