My Network Places folder provides access to all network computers, files and shared folders, printers and other resourcesavailable through the network is connected to the local computer.

My Folder Network Places contains the following elements:

 


• Add Network Place - adds a new folder icon indicating the location of
network;
• Entire Network - acts as the view resources located in
other domains and workgroups;
• Computers Near Me - contains a list of online resources in the local domain
or working group.


In the My Network Places folder, you can place shortcuts that point to
most commonly used network resources. Add Network Place icon allows you to run the wizard for creating a shortcut (Fig. 2).

When you create a shortcut, you can either directly specify the UNC share, or find a resource in the network via a mechanism Ferris network resources. Shortcut can give an informative and easy to remember name. The operating system automatically creates shortcuts for easy access frequently used resources. If you wish to access the disk on the remote computer as a its local, you must open My Computer or My Network Places, and from the Tools menu select Map Network Drive. In the resulting window (see picture №3) to select the letter to refer to this disc, as well as the desired resource. It can also be done by specifying the path or click Browse, and from pop-up window, select the resource. By letter to him can be called from any program, even from the session DOS.

 

If you wish to have this procedure performed automatically when Further launches of Windows, you must check the box Reconnect at logon. The specified resource attached so appears in the My Computer. Often there is a need to provide their resources to other users, which should do the following:


• Select the resource you want to make it public. To do this, create on the desktop folder and create in this folder arbitrary text document with any text (you can copy the folder already exists document);
• Click on the resources (folder), right mouse button from the menu select Properties (the Properties);
• In the window that appears, select Sharing (Access) (see Figure 4). Attention! This tab is available only to users with administrator privileges. Refer to the teacher to use this option.
• Check the box Share this folder (Share);
• Select Security (Security);
• Set the resolution needed in your opinion for these files (Full Control, Modify, etc.);

• Press OK;
