Football, fencing and wrestling are very popular kinds of sports. The most popular kind of sports is football. Britain invented football which is played all over the world. As for me, I like to watch TV sports programmes about football matches, fencing and wrestling competitions. I like swimming very much because it helps me to have a good rest. I usually go to the swimming-pool on Wednesday and Saturday. A lot of my friends go in for sports. At our school we have got a football team and a basketball team. Our football teams take part in different school competitions and take the first, second or third place. I consider that sport plays a great role in our life. It helps us in different ways. Firstly, sport helps us to be healthy. Secondly, sport builds our character. It teaches to win and lose. Sport makes you strong, fast and patient. Besides, it is a good way to find new friends. We have got different school subjects: English, Russian, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Algebra, Geometry, Geography, Literature, Physical Training. We have got seven lessons every day. I like Physical Training. I like to play basketball with my classmates very much.
We have got autumn, winter, spring and summer holidays. My autumn and spring holidays are short but I like to spend my free time with my friends. We often go to the cinema, play chess or computer games. In the evening I often read books or watch TV. I have got winter holidays for two weeks. I often celebrate Christmas and New Year with my family. We always decorate our New Year tree, prepare some presents [prezents] for our friends and relatives. Modern life is impossible without travelling. A lot of people travel by car, train, plane or ship. Travelling by plane is the fastest and the most convenient way, but it is the most expensive too. Travelling by train is slower than by plane, but it has its advantages. You can see much more interesting places of the country while you are travelling by train. Modern trains have very comfortable seats. There are also sleeping cars and dining cars which make even the longest journey enjoyable. Speed, comfort and safety are the main advantages of trains and planes. Travelling by sea is very popular too. As for me, I like travelling by car. It seems to me it’s very convenient. You can stop wherever you wish and spend at any place as much time as you like. We often travel by car to the Azov Sea in summer. In my opinion, travelling can improve English. I would like to visit English-speaking countries: the USA, the United Kingdom, Australia. I hope my dream will be realized. What about you? Where do you like to travel?
