Chapter 5. The elite division of the Bench Marathon.

5.1. Competitive task of the division participant: to get the maximum tonnage in the competitive category with a fixed weight of the rod for three competitive approaches.

5.2. All participants of one competition category, in turn, in the order of preliminary draw, perform the first approach then in the second thread - the second approach and, in the third thread - the third.

5.3. The result is a minimum of eight repetitions in each approach. A result of less than 8 test repetitions is a legitimate reason for removing an athlete from participation in the overall standings in the Bench Press Marathon division, since only athletes who have completed all three tests competitive approaches participate in the distribution of places.

5.4. In this competition division, the athlete can set the CRBP (Classic Russian Bench Press) record in any of the three competitive approaches. BPM record in the total tonnage is counted ONLY by the sum of three competitive approaches.

5.5. Competitive streams should be formed in such a way that athletes of the same category have at least 30 minutes to rest between sets of the Bench Press Marathon.

5.6. The results of the “Bench Press Marathon” division in each category are determined by the Total Weightlifting Index (TWI), which is calculated by dividing the total tonnage of all three approaches, by the participant’s own weight. The resulting value is rounded to the second digit after the decimal point. The distribution of places comes from a larger TWI indicator downward. In case of equal TWI, the athlete with the largest tonnage wins.

5.7. Competitive nominations for the weight of the bar are the same as in the CBP.

Chapter 6. “Russian Bench Press in Lightweight Equipment”.

6.1. The way of the competition: all participants perform one test approach for the maximum possible number of repetitions to a fixed weight of the bar in the category that they chose independently using additional lightweight factory-made equipment. The result is a result of at least eight repetitions.

6.2. Winner determination:

6.2.1. According to the results of the performance in the category, each participant in the competition is awarded points according to the weightlifting index formula (WIF) (see paragraph 1.2.2. Chapter 1. of these rules).

6.2.2. The participant in the category who scored the most points becomes the winner; other participants take places as the points decrease.

Chapter 7. Additional disciplines of the  Federation of the Russian Press.

"Russian Squat."

7.1. The method of conducting competitions in this discipline involves similar rules for the Baker’s Dozen division: all participants alternately perform three test approaches to the weight of the bar, which are determined independently in each approach. The result is a score of at least eight and no more than thirteen repetitions in each approach.

7.2. The participant has the right in each next approach to leave weight from the previous approach or change it in any (both up and down) sides.

7.3. Competitive streams should be formed in such a way that athletes have at least 20 minutes to rest between competitive approaches.

7.4. The time to complete the exercise in one approach is limited by the interval of 5 minutes after the command of the senior judge on the platform "-Start!"

7.5. Winner determination:

7.5.1. The results are summarized for the largest total tonnage recruited by the athlete in the sum of three approaches (see paragraph 2.1. Chapter 1. of these Rules);

7.5.2. In the case when two or more athletes showed the same tonnage, a higher place is taken by one whose own weight is less;

7.5.3. According to the decision of the organizers of the competition, it is possible to distribute occupied places by the principle of absolute superiority by the weightlifting index (WI), which is calculated by dividing the total tonnage of all three approaches by the participant’s own weight. It must be specified in the Regulation on the tournament in advance;

7.5.4. In the case of an equal weightlifting index, the athlete who has raised the larger tonnage wins.

7.6. Requirements for the participant of the discipline "Russian Squat":

7.6.1. The participant is allowed to the platform only in sportswear (cycling shorts, wrestling, weightlifting tights, etc.), which tightens the lower body and does not cover the knee joints;

7.6.2. The use of knee wraps of any type or knee pads (fixing bandages, stickers, sports tape) is not allowed;

7.6.3. The use of specialized (helping) products for squats (specialized rigid leotards, corsets or other designs for strengthening the back, etc.) is not allowed;

7.6.4. Athletes are not allowed in slates (beach slippers) or shoes that have solid protruding details on the soles (heels, spikes, etc.);

7.6.5. It is allowed to use a factory-made belt (belt) with a width of not more than 15 cm. in the widest place.

Competition Rules

«Russian Squat»:

7.7.1. After calling the platform, the athlete, independently or with the help of assistants, takes up the initial position;

7.7.2. The position of the bar can be used either on the back or on the chest;

7.7.3. The width of the grip on the neck is allowed any, but so that the hands do not touch the discs;

7.7.4. In the starting position before the squat, the athlete's legs should be fully straightened at the knees (“straightened legs” position). The bar is placed on the shoulders or chest of the athlete and is held securely with both hands. (Torso forward not more than 30 degrees from an imaginary vertical line from the athlete’s heels;)

7.7.5. After the command of the senior judge on the platform: “-Start!”, The athlete independently performs squats so that each time the visible upper point of the front surface of the thigh drops no higher than the knee point of the knee at a horizontal level;

7.7.6. If the judge determines the depth of the next squat is insufficient, then instead of the score he gives the command: "Not enough!" and (or) repeats the previous account;

7.7.7. At stops above, the athlete is prohibited from spreading his hands until the discs touch the bar. The senior referee on the platform must give the command: “Grip!” and the athlete must independently return his hands to the allowed position.

7.7.8. Rest at the top can be of any duration within the time limit for the approach;

7.7.9. The athlete has the right to change the width of the setting of the feet arbitrarily at any time during the exercise.

7.7.10. The athlete has the right, within the allotted time limit, in the case of unaccounted squats, to try to do 13 repetitions in offset in one approach.

NOTE: In order to reliably determine the moment " Not enough!" when protesting the result of the referee's assessment, videos made from a technical angle (at a height above the floor) from extraneous media are taken as an argument.
